Liu lab employs multidisciplinary cutting-edge techniques to dissect genetic and epigenetic control of developmental gene expression using embryonic/blood stem cells as model systems.

Ongoing projects include (1) the role of transcription factor dynamics in controlling gene expression. (2) use chemical genetic tools to study transcription factor dynamics and explore potential therapeutic strategies for targeting transcription factors. (3) how enhancers are organized for the precise spatiotemporal control of gene expression.
